ABOUT UDAAN

“Where there is no vision, there is no hope.” – George Washington Carver

In India mental disability one of the most neglected compared other disabilities. The situation is more challenging due to lack of awareness that causes the discrepancy in support from the society and the government at large. Although, mental disadvantage does not have any cure; and thus, the persons with mental disadvantage need support throughout their lives.

Residential facilities and training centers for the special population are either very few or almost non-existent in most parts of the country. Udaan, an initiative of “The Vivekanand School” l, is a response to the social calling that caters to making lives of special people easier.

Udaan is a Non-Profit Organization that works for the welfare of mentally disadvantaged adults who are either affected by multiple disabilities or are autistic. At Udaan, a group of professional resource staff work with the special population through therapeutic interventions.
